The Glentor Centre
The Glentor Centre is now open for business. The building was purpose designed and built to provide the very best of care for the Residents.
The Glentor Centre combines all the traditional caring values that Torr Home is renowned for with the latest dementia nursing standards.
The Unit is modern, light, airy and contemporary but also provides all the home comforts that is expected by Resident and their Relatives.
All 16 bedrooms have either views over the Torr Home gardens or the feature central enclosed walled garden. All bedrooms are tastefully furnished and have ensuite facilities and a digital television installed. For those who wish all bedrooms have telephone connections fitted for the benefit of the Residents.
There is a purpose built bathroom having full bathing facilities including hydrotherapy and a built in hoist. There is also a wet room for those who prefer to shower.
The day room is large and airy and features a large wall mounted television, it enjoys the focal point of a "real fireplace" and overlook the gardens and provides direct access to the central courtyard garden which is another feature provided for the enjoyment and stimulation of the Residents of Glentor.
A library or quiet room is provided adjacent to the day room for those who wish to enjoy a period reading or just simply relaxing.
A separate dining room adjoins the fully equipped kitchen and features comfortable contemporary bright furniture to ensure an enjoyable experience at meal times.
All meals are home cooked with the emphasis on dietary needs, a varied menu and a real choice of different meals.
In keeping with the latest thinking the Nursing Home has a theme of vibrant colours running throughout the Unit to promote clearer recognition and definition for our Residents.
Daily mental and physical stimulation are provided through individually tailored activities. In addition there are regular trips in the minibus and entertainment to ensure a fulfilling and excellent quality of life for the Residents of Glentor.
