    • RGN - Registered General Nurse

      Job description


      We are looking for RGN Nurses to join our teams at Torr Home. We are looking for permanent staff, offering full, part time or bank shifts that are available for either day or night shifts.


      Torr Home is one of Plymouths oldest care establishments, with over 160 years since its formation as a charity from its home at the highest point of the city. Torr Home delivers high standards of care for residential and nursing residents. Whilst the Glentor Centre and the most newly opened wing, the Beltor Unit offer dementia specialist care.


      Our nurses are required to ensure the following:

      To provide a caring and supportive service to all types of resident.

      To positively support the Matron and Deputy Matron in providing leadership to the care staff within Torr Home.

      To maintain skills at a current level and undertake such training and development as may from time-to-time be required to maintain that currency of practice.

      To manage the service in accordance with standards agreed with the Registered Manager, Registered Provider, legislative requirements, relevant regulations, in line with accepted best practice and within the financial plans agreed from time-to-time with the Registered Provider.

      To follow processes and procedures already in place that contribute to the continued smooth running of the unit.

      Communicate well with the team under your supervision, residents and visitors to the home and other professionals.

      Experience is preferred due to the nature of the homes, with the ability to think on your feet and work hard to provide the excellent standard of care our residents deserve.


      If you think you could fulfil the duties above, we can offer you - competitive pay as well as pay enhancements for Sundays and Bank Holidays; free DBS check and free uniform; free onsite parking and subsidised, freshly cooked meals whilst on duty. There are also pay enhancements for Nurses who wish to work nights.


      The successful applicants will need to undergo a DBS check paid for by Torr Home and provide 2 satisfactory references.


      COVID-19 considerations:

      We currently require all staff members to be fully vaccinated. We adhere to strict infection prevention procedures. All staff have access to PPE and LFT tests are available. Temperature checking and testing in place.
